Spec Ops: The Line Demo Now Live

A demo for the third-person military shooter Spec Ops: The Line by 2K Games and developer YAGER is now available for Gold members on Xbox Live (it will be available for all members on Xbox LIVE on May 15, 2012) and for all players on PlayStation Network.

The demo will explore the first two chapters which will pit players in the role of Captain Martin Walker as he searches for John Konrad and his battalion in Dubai, where catastrophic sandstorms have blocked off all communication to and from the city.

Players will need to use squad-based commands and high-tech weaponry, even those that use "sand as a weapon to strategically bury enemies in their path", to overcome enemies and survive the harsh elements. Spec Ops: The Line also includes a multiplayer mode with maps where sandstorms will "impact visiblity, team communication, and weapon handling".

Spec Ops: The Line arrives June 16 for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC in North America and June 29, 2012 worldwide.
