Borderlands 2 Pre-Orders Reach Third Highest In Take-Two History

If pre-order numbers are any indication, Borderlands 2 will make quite a splash when it launches next month. In fact, the upcoming cel-shaded shooter is on track to surpass most of Take-Two's other titles, clocking in right behind Grand Theft Auto IV and San Andreas as the third most pre-ordered title in the company's history. After all, people love collecting loot, and seeing as how shooters are all the rage right now, it's no wonder Gearbox's upcoming sequel is on track to be a sure-fire hit.

According to Take-Two's CEO Strauss Zelnick, "pre-orders are currently the third highest of any title in Take-Two's history, behind only Grand Theft Auto 4 and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas." Zelnick went on to express his confidence in the rest of the company's upcoming games lineup, pointing to both NBA 2K13 and BioShock Infinite as two other promising releases.

Borderlands 2 launches on September 18th.
