Sleeping Dogs Steals Top Spot In UK Debut Week

Sleeping Dogs is in the midst of setting the international charts on fire, particularly the UK charts on which this Hong Kong GTA-styled police adventure has supplanted even Nintendo's own New Super Mario Bros. 2 for Nintendo 3DS.

1. Sleeping Dogs

2. New Super Mario Bros. 2

3. London 2012: The Official Video Game

4. LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes

5. Mario & Sonic London 2012 Olympics Games

6. Batman: Arkham City

7. The Amazing Spider-Man

8. Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier

9. Dead Island: GOTY Edition

10. LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7

This is an incredible achievement, given that Activision decided to break its relationship with United Front Games during the game's production, forcing the developer to pitch its half-made title to publishers and thanking the stars when Square Enix stepped in where Activision left off.

It's a testament to their efforts and the appeal of open-world gameplay in modern cities, even if I complained about some of its issues in my review. Sleeping Dogs currently has an 80.86% average on Gamerankings for the Xbox 360 platform.
