Mario 3DS Confirmed For E3 2011

If you're a gamer, like… a real gamer, not one of those "a Madden a year… keeps all the good games away" type gamers, then there's no way you aren't excited by the prospect of the Electronic Entertainment Expo. With the big three's press conferences scheduled, it's time to talk about what games we'll be seeing at the big show.

Nintendo decided to throw out one of their bigger names ahead of time. Head-ninty-dude Satoru Iwata let investors know this morning that the previously announced Super Mario title for the Nintendo 3DS will officially be in attendance at E3 2011:

We are planning to introduce a new title from the Super Mario series which is a Mario action game in 3D space, that we will reveal at E3 this year.

An press release earlier in the year related that Miyamoto's dreams will come true as Mario moves into 3D. All that 3D block breaking will be a lot easier with depth and distance. Let's just hope the actual game has some depth. I'm all for some remakes on the 3DS, but if this is just Super Mario 64 again I'm going to be severely disappointed.
