Navy SEALs Disciplined For Sharing Too Much To EA For MOH: Warfighter

Electronic Arts and Danger Close made it clear right from the outset that they were going for authenticity in Medal of Honor: Warfighter, so they spoke to seven US Navy SEALs for guidance. It appears that by serving as consultants on the game, the military group of was in direct violation of their code: "SEALs are silent warriors who shun the spotlight."

But things only get worse, as it is believed that the SEALs provided EA with classified information. I know next to nothing about the military, but even I know that's a big NO NO. According to CBS, the seven SEALs are still on active duty and one of them was involved in the raid that killed Osama bin Laden.

The United States Department of Defense provided Polygon with the following update:

A non-judicial punishment hearing was conducted yesterday, Nov. 7 and seven Naval Special Warfare (NSW) personnel faced administrative proceedings. An additional NSW investigation is ongoing to determine if more personnel may be involved.

They are being charged with violation of Article 92: Orders violation, misuse of command gear and violation of Article 92: Dereliction of duty, disclosure of classified material.

Two Senior Chief Special Operators and five Chief Special Operators received the punishment. They received a punitive letter of reprimand and forfeiture of ½ month's pay for two months.

And you know what the worst part about this whole situation is? The game wasn't even good!
