Latest Video From Nintendo Details The Wii U’s Miiverse, Network And Web Browser

Hey everyone, say hello to Bill Trinen from Nintendo Treehouse! (I can't even type that with a straight face).

In this latest video update from the Big N, we get a closer look at how the Wii U's Miiverse will work, along with new details on user accounts, web browsing and much more. Why they've decided to drop this on us mere days before the system's launch is a bit befuddling, but hey, that's Nintendo for you.

If you don't want to sit through all fifteen minutes of the video, let me summarize it for you. Every time you boot up the Wii U, you'll be able to select one of (up to) twelve user accounts. Your personal account (which is designated by the Mii you create) stores your game saves, game settings, play history and browser bookmarks.

If you want to take advantage of features like the eShop, Nintendo TVii or video chat, you'll need to set up a Nintendo Network ID—which hopefully isn't as painful as friend codes. Believe it or not, you'll be able to take this ID beyond just Nintendo systems, with smartphone and PC functionality coming soon.

To see a bit of New Super Mario Bros. U in action and how Miiverse is integrated into the experience, skip to about midway through the video for the staged demonstration. The rest of the video highlights stuff Nintendo has gone over in the past, but hey, a little extra clarification is never a bad thing.
