Activision Confirms Destiny Will NOT Launch In 2013

Bungie blew the lid off of its new sci-fi FPS yesterday with a proper unveiling of Destiny. The studio showed us a bunch of artwork, a tiny bit of gameplay, and made a whole bunch of promises. What we didn't hear, however, was when the game would be available for purchase.

Activision has cleared that up today in a press release, announcing that Destiny won't be launching this year. In addition, the publisher reaffirmed the fact that the game will be available for "the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, as well as other future console platforms."

Were you hoping to play Destiny this holiday season, or do you think you'll have enough on your plate with other next-gen titles? Let us know in the comments below.
