Those of you who have played the 1998 original Resident Evil 2, might be wondering whether or not it’s worth buying the remake. Let us be the first to tell you that while it is entirely your choice, there are enough differences in the remake to make it worth it.

Gone are the original’s tank controls, set camera, and pre-rendered backgrounds. Resident Evil 2 remake plays similarly to the likes of Resident Evil 4 and Revelations. The original’s blocky graphics have been updated significantly. Resident Evil 2 remake looks excellent whatever platform you play it on, thanks to its use of the Resident Evil 7 engine. All of this, coupled with the game’s modern controls make Resident Evil 2 remake feel right at home on current generation hardware.

There are other changes, too. The narrative has been altered, offering a deeper experience than in the original. New audio was recorded for the game, too. The new Adaptive Difficulty adds a splash of color too. On top all of this, there are completely new areas to explore. While the setting, characters, and plot may feel familiar, there is more than enough new content here to make it feel like a fresh experience.

There is always the possibility of DLC, too, which would make a purchase a little more worthwhile if you ask us. Despite this, it’s entirely up to you whether you buy the game. We just don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
