Metro: Last Light System Requirements Are Higher Than Crysis 3’s

Yes, the above is a screenshot of Metro: Last Light. Are you actually surprised?

Metro: Last Light will be contendor for the best-looking game ever when it releases next month, but that doesn't mean you can't run it on your aging gaming PC. Actually, the system requirements have been released and the minimum specs aren't too demanding at all. Even mid-range cards from 2008 can haul those graphics to your face. However, if you want it to look like you've seen in the trailers, it's an entirely different story. Even overclocked, AMD has nothing that can run it on Very High settings, and you're going to need the dual-card GeForce 690 or Titan to play it. Surprisingly, all three spec levels are beyond what was seen with Crysis 3, which is inarguably the best-looking game you can play right now. Cough that up to poor optimization if you want, but Metro: Last Light might very well be the new king for benchmarking.

The system requirements can be seen below:

Minimum

Windows: XP (32-Bit), Vista, 7 or 8
CPU: 2.2 GHz Dual Core e.g. Intel Core 2 Duo
RAM: 2GB
Direct X: 9.0c
Graphics Card: DirectX 9, Shader Model 3 compliant e.g. NVIDIA GTS 250 (or AMD equivalent e.g. HD Radeon 4000 series) or higher

Recommended

Windows: Vista, 7 or 8
CPU: 2.6 GHz Quad Core e.g. Intel Core i5
RAM: 4GB
Direct X: 11
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GTX 580/660 Ti (or AMD equivalent e.g. 7870) or higher

Optimum

Windows: Vista, 7 or 8
CPU: 3.4 GHz Multi-Core e.g. Intel Core i7
RAM: 8GB
Direct X: 11
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GTX 690 / NVIDIA Titan

So, will you be able to run it? Or are you going to have to cop-out and get one of the console versions?
