FFXIV Job Abilities Video Shows Amazing Spell Effects; Scholar Job Confirmed

The more the merrier!

Today, Community Representative Bayohne confirmed after a slew of rumors that Scholar will make its way to Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn's roster for release. That brings the total up to 8 playable classes and 9 jobs. That doesn't make for an easy decision now, does it?

Although you're able to play as any class/job on a single character in FFXIV at some point you're going to want to settle on one that you take to level cap and enjoy endgame content with. To help you out with that decision—which usually takes me hours—SE has released a video. The 3-minutes of gameplay footage show several skills from each job. With it you can get a taste of what makes a Warrior different from a Dragoon, and also see how much work has gone into the spell effects of FFXIV: ARR. Honestly, they're the best I've ever seen in an RPG, but I'm not surprised; this is SE after all.

Check out the video below:

Remember, FFXIV: ARR releases on August 27th for PC and PS3. If you're planning on joining me for a second try at the next-gen of Final Fantasy feel free to share which job you plan on rolling. I'm particularly interested in Black Mage and Summoner. What can I say, I love casters!

If you'd like to hear why FFXIV should be given another chance, be sure to read our preview where we go over why this is the game that FFXI fans have been waiting for.
