Steam Trading Cards Release On Wednesday, Exciting Valve News Teased

After over a month of testing Valve is ready to integrate its latest feature into the Steam client: Steam Trading Cards.

This Wednesday, June 26th at 11am PDT, Steam Trading Cards will make its exit from beta and enter official release. Everyone on Steam will instantly have access to collecting cards as well as the rewards they provide including profile backgrounds, emoticons, and even coupons. Several more games will also be supported upon release to get everyone involved.

There are a few trading card releated functionalities that won't make be ready for release on Wednesday, namely Trade Offers and the Card Binder. The Card Binder in particular is a highly anticipated feature that makes card collections easier to organize and display.

Beyond the release of trading cards Valve has something in-store that it says "everyone can be excited about". Some anticipate game lending after data was found within the Steam client. If not that, then at the very least we know a Steam Summer Sale is coming any day now. Stay tuned for the news on that, and in the meantime start working on your card collection before your friends get ahead of you.
