Yoshida: Xbox One DRM Debacle “A Very Useful Source” In Deciding PS4 User Rights

Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida has gone on record to say that the Xbox One DRM fiasco definitely aided the PlayStation manufacturer when it was ironing out its policies for the PlayStation 4.

Speaking to Famitsu (via Polygon), Yoshida explained, "There were lots of people who gave their opinions on that issue to my Twitter account before E3. It's not that our hardware policies are decided strictly based on user reaction like this, but when we were thinking about what we had to bring across and how to bring it across, it was a very useful source."

Sony's decision has since forced Microsoft to backpedal and amend its always-on and used game policies, only making the PlayStation manufacturer look even stronger in the eyes of the gamer by leading the charge for a consumer-friendly future.
