The more you have CHI's the faster you'll be able to go.
Easiest way to get more CHI's is to complete mini-games that challenge you to guide your character through flaming rings and into obstacles.
To activate CHI, pull on the virtual cord, located on the top right corner of the screen.
Win races to unlock new parts to customize your character.

Star Citizen is an upcoming space trading and combat simulator video game for Microsoft Windows. Star Citizen will consist of two main components: first person space combat and trading in a massively multiplayer persistent universe and customizable private servers (known as Star Citizen), and a branching single-player game (known as Squadron 42).
