Of all the gameplay mechanics in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX, move growth is one of the most interesting. Essentially, the more you use a move, the better it will become. This is called move growth, and the helpful Gulpin in the town square will tell you all about it. All of this means that if you want Ember to be the strongest it can be, you’ll want to use it as often as possible.

You’ll notice that a little empty bar is situated next to your attacks when picking which move to use in a dungeon. This is your Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX move growth bar. The more you use an attack, the quicker this will fill in blue. What’s more, move growth is shared by your team. This means that if any of your team shares a move with you and uses it, it will grow faster. Thankfully, the game will let you know when move growth has taken place.

The fuller the move growth bar is, the better the move will be. Growing your moves in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX will help you out no end. You’ll see the move’s power increase, along with its PP and accuracy. It’s time to spam that move you want to improve. Remember though, that each time you use an attack, its PP will reduce by one at least. Keep those Ethers stocked up.
