Lepro EE1 AI LED Permanent Outdoor Lights Review

The Lepro EE1 AI Outdoor Lights target homeowners who want a year-round permanent lighting setup that boasts a wide variety of customization. Whether it’s Christmas, Independence Day, or the Super Bowl, a complete lighting setup gives owners the opportunity to add a bit of flair. Then, when it’s time to dial things down again, the solid color options are the clear choice. With the EE1, Lepro is offering a dual-output design, which is what sets it apart from the E1 model that I reviewed previously. 

Dual-output wins

As mentioned, the main highlight of the Lepro EE1 over the E1 is its dual-output design. This allows a single controller to power lights in two different directions. With lengths of up to 300ft, this additional flexibility helps keep the setup tidy and as easy as possible.

The EE1 uses individually addressable RGBIC lights, meaning different sections can show different colors and effects at the same time. The Lepro app offers a wide range of control, from building DIY scenes to turning off specific lights altogether. Directional flow control adds more personality to animated scenes, with effects able to move left to right, right to left, outward from the center, or inward toward it. 

The app responds quickly, and the individual light control makes the results feel more polished than a standard preset-based lighting kit. If the app sucked, then that would severely limit this product, so it’s good that the application works well.

AI that doesn’t get in the way

For those who feel that they need inspiration, Lepro’s LightGPM 4.0 AI tool can create themes from prompts or photos. While it might seem a bit gimmicky, as AI gets shoehorned into seemingly everything nowadays, it actually works well. 

The lights are also built with outdoor durability in mind, featuring weatherproof construction, an IP67-rated power adapter, a claimed 50,000-hour lifespan, and a three-year warranty on the light strings. This is appreciated given how the longer variants quickly increase in price.

Not quite a white light

The main drawback is the lack of a dedicated white LED. The EE1 can approximate white through RGB mixing, but those wanting refined warm or cool white tones for daily exterior lighting might not get the exact color they want. Interestingly, the single-output E1 does offer a dedicated white LED, so that’s worth bearing in mind.
