Pokémon X & Y Will Feature Starter Pokémon Bulbasuar, Charmander, And Squirtle

Nintendo made several interesting announcements during today's Pokémon Direct. First off, gamers who played Pokémon Black & White 1 and 2 will be able to transfer their adorable creatures over to X & Y.

This can be done by using something called the Poké Transporter, which allows you to upload your favorite creatures to your Pokémon Bank where you can then download the monsters you want to your 3DS. There is a catch, however, as the Pokémon Bank requires a subscription fee to use. Bummer, I know.

Junichi Masuda from Game Freak made an exciting announcement of his own, revealing that in addition to the three new starters found in Pokémon X & Y, players will also get the opportunity to choose from one of the three original starters from Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow.

Not only that, but the fully evolved forms of these three creatures each have a Mega Evolution as well, with the ability to become Mega Venasaur, Mega Blastoise, or Mega Charizard. Yeah, the inner child in me is squealing with delight right now.

Pokémon X & Y will launch on October 12th for 3DS.
