Xbox TV Studio Has “Literally Hundreds Of Ideas,” Announcement “Coming Pretty Soon”

Microsoft isn't shying away from the fact that they're positioning Xbox One to be much more than just a video game console. While that naturally is a bit disheartening to hardcore gamers like you and me, it will undoubtedly be interesting to see how well MS does in the TV space.

According to Phil Spencer, their Xbox TV studio based in Los Angeles has a whole bunch of ideas for where to take television–in addition to the already announced Halo TV series under the direction of Steven Spielberg.

"They have literally hundreds of ideas that they are incubating right now," Spencer told Bloomberg. "We will have some new announcement for TV shows coming pretty soon."

And let's not forget about sports, as Microsoft made it clear that this entire sector of the entertainment biz will play an integral role in the future of Xbox. "We believe sports is a very interesting category globally," he added.

Are you excited about Microsoft's attempt to expand television with Xbox One? Would you rather keep video games separate from the rest of entertainment entirely? Weigh in on this controversial topic in the comments below.
