With the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro II, the gaming peripheral company is aiming to improve sound, comfort, battery life, and connectivity, while keeping the swappable battery system that made the original so interesting. After using the Stealth Pro II for gaming and music listening, it’s time for my review.
Connect ‘em all
The big flagship feature here is CrossPlay 2.0. Turtle Beach includes a transmitter dock and separate USB wireless transmitter, allowing users to connect to two sources out of the box and switch between them with a button on the headset. Up to four sources can be connected with additional transmitters.
It’s this wireless flexibility that is the Stealth Pro II’s biggest victory. My gaming devices aren’t all huddled around the same desk, so switching between systems without moving a dongle around is fantastic. It’s a feature I appreciated more with continued use, due to my PC being in the office, my PS5 being in the living room, and my Switch 2 dock situated in the bedroom.

I’m always happy to see simultaneous 2.4 GHz wireless and Bluetooth. Being able to hear game audio while also taking a call or listening to something from a phone is a great convenience feature. Helpfully, the two sources have independent volume controls.
Big on sound

Sound comes from 60 mm Eclipse dual drivers, which use dedicated woofers and tweeters. There’s also 24-bit/96 kHz high-resolution wireless audio on supported devices, active noise cancellation (ANC), Dolby Atmos, and a removable 9 mm flip-to-mute microphone.
Happily, sound quality is also very good. Directionality is excellent, making footsteps and gunfire easy to pinpoint in competitive shooters like Call of Duty and Apex Legends. Bass has plenty of power for explosions and other big moments, while the overall presentation is detailed enough for music listening.
Other significant wins

Battery life deserves a nod, too. Two swappable batteries are included, with each rated for 40 hours. While one powers the headset, the other charges in the dock. Swap them over and you’re quickly back in the fight. This completely solves battery anxiety, as users will always have a backup ready to go.
The design also deserves praise. The Stealth Pro II looks far less like a traditional gaming headset and the mix of aluminium and soft-touch materials helps it feel suitably premium.
Areas to improve

When it comes to downsides, my main concern is comfort. This is a heavy headset and, during longer sessions, I became increasingly aware of the headband pressing down. I could still wear it for hours, but I’d definitely like to see a more balanced distribution of weight – or just a lighter overall product – in the next iteration.
The stock tuning could also use a little work to please my ears. I found that bass could become overwhelming for some games. Thankfully, Swarm II’s 10-band EQ makes it possible to rein things in a bit. I ended up pulling 63 Hz and 125 Hz down by a few decibels.

Final Verdict
At $349.99, the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro II is a premium-priced wireless gaming headset, but it does a lot to justify its flagship status. CrossPlay 2.0 is a fantastic convenience feature, positional audio is excellent, and the swappable battery system effectively removes charging anxiety. Comfort and stock tuning prevent it from being a complete victory, but they don’t overshadow what is otherwise a very impressive headset.
