Bethesda: No Fallout 4 Announcement for “A While”

Excitement for a new Fallout game from the folks at Bethesda has resulted in all sorts of speculation and rumors over the past several months. Sadly, it doesn't look like we'll be getting an official reveal any time soon, as the next entry in the series is apparently a ways off.

"We don’t [have a timeframe for our next game announcement], but I think it’s gonna be a while," Bethesda's Todd Howard to Rock Paper Shotgun. "We’ve gotten fairly used to all the questions and curiosity over the years. Everyone wants information. Right now, we’re just trying to figure out which of our ideas are going to stick and finding an appropriate time to talk about it."

Howard could just be trying to throw us off the studio's scent, as the team has almost certainly been working on a new Fallout game for quite some time; however, next-gen game development for an RPG of that scale is certainly something you don't want to rush. It pains me to say it, but I wouldn't be surprised if we're left waiting until 2015 for a formal reveal.
