Atlus Rescues Citizens of Earth Despite Kickstarter Failure

Oct 20, 2013 marks a sad day for Citizens of Earth. Though 1,099 backers supported the development of the self-proclaimed modern RPG, the $36,875 raised only reached one-third of its $100,000 goal. But Ryan and the team at Eden Industries chose not to give up the fight, and they struggled long and hard enough for savior publisher Atlus to throw a phoenix down at its feet.

The retro-inspired RPG will resurrect later in 2014 as a download-only tile in North American and Europe for five platforms: PC, PlayStation 4, Wii U, PlayStation Vita, and Nintendo 3DS. Not too shabby given where it started from, yes?

Citizens of Earth begins with you as the Vice President attempting to take a quick break after winning the candidacy and suddenly awakening the next day to world madness. So it's on your shoulders to discover the reason behind the madness and delegate the right tasks to the right people out of the 41 possible recruits (so you don't have to do it yourself). Why 1 more than 40? Because there's a contest to have one lucky fool be a citizen in the game.
