Two New Multiplayer Maps Coming to The Last of Us for Free

The Last of Us developer Naughty Dog has announced that it will be launching two new multiplayer maps for its post-apocalyptic adventure game. The price? Zero dollars, zero cents.

That's right, folks, if you are the proud owner of either the PlayStation 3 or PS4 version of The Last of Us and enjoy the game's intense online multiplayer, you'll be able to download and dive into two brand-new maps for free. The studio is doing this "in appreciation for all of your continued patience," as the team works to fix the game's online matchmaking issues.

In a post on the developer's official blog, Naughty Dog's Arne Meyer explained:

Believe me, the entire team at Naughty Dog completely understands how frustrating this has been for many of you in our community. We've got some good news. At the end of July, we teased some new multiplayer add-on content which included a glimpse at new maps for Factions. We're glad to say that we've decided to release these two maps for free on both the PS3 and PS4 in appreciation for all of your continued patience as we work to resolve the matchmaking issues.

Have you enjoyed the game's multiplayer mode, or are you like me and more of a single-player kind of gamer? If you have given the MP a shot, let us know in the comments whether or not you've run into issues with the online matchmaking.
