The GEEKOM Mini IT12 has been updated for this year with a 2025 Edition. This version features a switch from the older 12650H processor to the 1280P. For those already in the know about Intel Core i7 processors, this upgrade may seem fairly minor, but when it comes to graphics performance and overall efficiency, it’s a noteworthy spec bump. Best of all, it comes without any major price increase. On paper, it’s a wise upgrade that keeps the IT12 competitive in a crowded market, but how has it fared during my testing? Here is my review.
The main upgrade

As mentioned in the intro, the key upgrade to the GEEKOM Mini IT12 is the CPU. Moving to the 12th Gen Intel Core i7-1280P CPU unlocks additional performance. With its 14 cores and 20 threads, and capable of clocking up to 4.8 GHz, this tiny PC boasts plenty of grunt. Most crucially, however, the CPU upgrade means users can take advantage of Intel Iris Xe graphics, which is a nice jump up from the UHD graphics found in the previous iteration.
While the graphics bump doesn’t turn this mini PC into a AAA gaming rig, it does help it in lightweight titles and more intensive apps that require GPU acceleration.
Other noteworthy specs

With up to 32 GB of DDR4 RAM – yes, it is still DDR4, so that limitation remains – and a 1 TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD, memory and storage options are solid, amounting to a capable mini PC that can deliver impressive results in demanding tasks. Upgrades to the RAM and SSD are possible and easily completed, thanks to how easy it is to access the internals.
The 2025 Edition of the Mini IT12 features an impressive selection of I/O:

Small yet mighty
As with the previous version, the Mini IT12 2025 Edition delivers an impressive amount of performance for the price and when considering the small size of the unit. This thing is tiny and can be tidily hidden away behind a monitor or under a desk, which is encouraged by the mounting points.
The bump up to Iris Xe graphics is more than welcome, giving an already powerful system a bit of extra help in GPU-focused tasks.
With the CPU upgrade comes better efficiency which, while it might sound boring, actually helps with overall performance. Better efficiency leads to lower temperatures which leads to improved performance.
Still using DDR4

Of course, there is still room for improvement. The use of DDR4 memory is the glaring spec that could use an update.
Other than this, I truly think GEEKOM has succeeded with this updated model!

Final Verdict
Starting at $390, the GEEKOM Mini IT12 (2025 Edition) offers a smart refresh that improves performance and efficiency without raising the price. The CPU and graphics upgrades make it faster and smoother for everyday use, while keeping the same compact and practical design.
It’s not a huge leap forward, but it refines what already worked well. For anyone seeking a small, reliable, and affordable mini PC, the updated IT12 remains a solid choice.
