Apple Reportedly Turns to Google for Help With Siri

Apple is set to continue its AI push with a revamped version of Siri, which has fallen behind other AI assistants in the rat race. However, this time, it appears that iPhone makers will rely on Google‘s Gemini and incorporate an AI-powered web search feature. This new version of Siri will be accompanied by several other interesting releases from Apple. It is expected to arrive in the spring of 2026.

Apple asks Google for help

Reportedly, after lagging behind the competition in the AI market, it seems that Apple is going to “lean” on Google‘s Gemini for assistance. The company is expected to launch a completely revamped version of Siri around March 2026. This version will be powered by Google’s Gemini behind the scenes.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is paying Google to build a Gemini-based model that runs its own Private Cloud Compute servers. This should help Siri deliver better results. However, he has warned that “there’s no guarantee users will embrace it. There’s uncertainty if it will work seamlessly. Further, if it can undo years of damage to the ‌Siri‌ brand (via Macrumors).”

To showcase the new generation of AI from Apple, the brand will also release a new smart home display that features both a speaker base and wall-mount options. Moreover, it also plans to launch a refreshed version of the Apple TV and HomePod mini, which will now utilize the new-gen AI technology.

Apple is expected to provide a first official look at its AI plans at WWDC in June 2026. It is also expected to unveil a preview of iOS 27, macOS 27, and watchOS 27 in the same event, alongside other exciting things.

Meanwhile, AI is becoming increasingly prevalent in the industry, often raising concerns about its ethical, moral, and environmental implications.
