iOS 26.2 Beta 2: All You Need to Know

Apple pushed out iOS 26.2 Beta 2 to developers and beta testers, and it is shaping out to be a fairly busy update. The build keeps expanding on the new ‘Liquid Glass’ style that Apple is trying to go for. Moreover, it tightens a few features across the system and adds some useful changes for gaming, CarPlay, Podcasts, and sleep tracking.

Here’s everything you need to know about iOS 26.2 Beta 2

Apple is continuing to weave its Liquid Glass look through apps under the 26.2 Beta 2 update.

The Measure app’s Level tool shows chromatic aberration and background distortion as the bubble crosses the horizon. There is also a new dramatic ‘Liquid Glass’ slider on the Lock Screen that adjusts translucency for the clock and widgets.

The Games app will also have a filtering and sorting option, along with real-time score updates during playback and improved controller navigation.

As for CarPlay, it gets a small but practical option. Users can now disable pinned conversations for Messages in CarPlay settings. It will make the interface simpler while driving.

Additionally, Apple is leaning into AI with Podcasts. iOS 26.2 Beta 2 can automatically create episode chapters and surface links mentioned in an episode, and collect links shown “From This Episode.”

Meanwhile, the watchOS paired with iOS 26.2 Beta 2 teaches Sleep Score categories and renames the top tier: “Excellent” replaces “Very High.” As for the score bands, they have also been shifted upward so that the labels match a stricter standard.

The macOS 26.2 Beta also includes Edge Light, which is a feature that surrounds the display with a virtual ring light, which will help during video calls. Edge Light will use Mac’s Neural Engine and image signal processor to detect face and position, and tune the illumination accordingly.

Moreover, Reminders can now trigger an actual alarm with the iOS 26.2 Beta 2 update. This will be a louder, hard-to-miss option rather than a persistent banner. Lastly, the News app will have links to popular sections like Sports, Puzzles, Politics, and Food on the Today screen.
