Lepro TB1 AI Smart Table Lamp Review

Lepro TB1 AI Smart Table Lamp Review

The Lepro TB1 AI Smart Table Lamp aims to be more than just a simple light. With smart features working to turn what initially looks like a simple light into something more, the Lepro TB1 is more than meets the eye. Here’s my review.

‘AI’ lighting?!

At the heart of the Lepro TB1 is LightGPM, which is described as an “AI” that creates lighting scenes based on your prompt. You can say “I’m having a party” and the lights will be customized to suit. It’s a neat trick and leads to some interesting combinations that I wouldn’t have come up with myself, but I found that, once I had some favourites, I didn’t really use this function again.

Thankfully, for those who don’t want to use LightGPM and would prefer to manually personalize colors, that is perfectly possible. You can combine whatever colors you like into your own personal scene and then save it.

LightBeats works well

While I found myself abandoning LightGPM, LightBeats is something I continue to use. This uses the built-in mic to listen to what is being played nearby. Play some music from some nearby speakers or move your phone speaker closer to the light, and the Lepro TB1 will try to match what it’s “hearing.” It works pretty well.

For those who are embedded in an Alexa or Google ecosystem, you’ll be keen to learn that this light supports assistant commands.

Super light

Lepro TB1 AI Smart Table Lamp Review

The main highlight of the Lepro TB1 is the brightness and vibrancy. At its foundation, it’s a brilliant lamp that works really well as a light source. Toss in the other features and you get a solid product that is actually fun to use. The app is simple enough to use, and customized scenes save without issue.

Limited ecosystems

The main downside to note with the Lepro TB1 is limited compatibility with HomeKit, Home Assistant, and other ecosystems. While I confirmed Alexa and Google support, not everyone will be happy.

Final Verdict

With an RRP of $89.99, the Lepro TB1 AI Smart Table Lamp is a bit pricey. However, this product is frequently discounted and so, when it is on sale, I think it’s a worthwhile purchase for anyone that wants a bright, flexible lamp with fun lighting effects, simple app controls, and reliable Alexa/Google integration. Just be aware that its ecosystem support is limited and the AI-driven LightGPM feature may lose its appeal after initial use.
