Fans Think GTA 6 Could Be Delayed Again for This Reason

The buzz surrounding Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6 continues to grow, but fans are growing anxious after the latest rumors. A new report indicates that the game’s physical release might not hit shelves alongside the digital launch. The official release date for GTA 6 is set for November 19, 2026. However, concerns are mounting that those eager to grab a boxed edition could face a much longer wait.

Fans are worried about rumors that GTA 6 could be delayed again

Rumors about GTA 6’s physical release are heating up thanks to insider Graczdari. This insider previously leaked accurate info on games like Oblivion: Remastered. A report from Polish site PPE says Graczdari thinks Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two, might hold back the boxed version to prevent leaks.

Their insider claims, “We are getting more and more information that the box version will not be released simultaneously with the digital version to prevent leaks (via Video Games Chronicle).”

Now, because of the latest rumor, fans are left worried. Some sources suggest the physical edition could drop three to four weeks after the digital release. Meanwhile, others think it might not arrive until early 2027. If that’s true, physical copy fans could be waiting almost a full year after the digital launch.

This kind of move isn’t new for big-name games. Rockstar has wrestled with leaks before. This includes footage showing pivotal gameplay mechanics and other details, like over 700 buildings you can enter and the comeback of the infamous 6-star Wanted level. By spacing out the physical release, the studio can keep spoilers in check. Moreover, they can let the excitement build without ruining surprises.

Fans shouldn’t have to wait too long for answers. PPE says Take-Two’s earnings call on February 3 could spill more details, including when pre-orders for GTA 6 kick off. Until then, the community is crossing its fingers, hoping this is just another fleeting rumor.

GTA 6 is shaping up to be one of the biggest game drops ever with a massive open world, next-level graphics, and gameplay that pulls you in like never before. Rumors hint at multiple cities to explore and a story that reacts to players’ choices.
