The Govee Floor Lamp 2 promises a more modern design with its 60” lamp body, increased brightness to light up larger spaces, and Matter support, complete with voice control. The number of improvements is impressive on paper, but how does it fare during real-world testing? Here is my review.
Some big upgrades
A big highlight of the Govee Floor Lamp 2 is its RGBICWW lighting and brightness. Enabling multiple colors to display simultaneously, or an impressive range of warm and cool white tones, at an impressive brightness of 1,725 lumens, this product stands out amongst the competition.
There are various color combinations to try out and the ability for lighting to react to music playing nearby is especially effective in this larger lamp.
Matter support is also great to see. This allows the Floor Lamp 2 to integrate with Apple Home, Google Assistant, Alexa, and other smart home ecosystems. Additionally, for those who own other Govee products, Govee DreamView can be used to sync with the Floor Lamp 2.

Another highlight of the Floor Lamp 2 is the illuminated base, which acts as a kind of spotlight around the lamp. This works well when the lamp is placed in a corner, with the main part lighting up the two nearby walls and then the base lighting up the floor. It’s surprisingly effective and aesthetically pleasing.
The most impressive thing about the Floor Lamp 2, as is often the case with Govee products, is the level of customization. While the stock settings can look great, users who dive fully into customization will be able to fine-tune to a surprising degree. If you’ve got favourite colors, or want to match lighting to a certain theme, then the possibilities are almost endless.
Some downsides

When it comes to downsides, I was hoping for a heavier base to keep it in place, as I’ve come close to knocking it over while hoovering. Alas, it is still quite lightweight, relative to other lamps I own.
The other downside, or rather an “aspect” that potential buyers should know about, is how this lamp is more about subtle ambient lighting rather than a focused beam. If you’re hoping for it to fully light up a room, rather than add subtle lighting to it, then you may be disappointed.

Final Verdict
At $159.99 — or £109.99 through Currys in the UK — the Govee Floor Lamp 2 offers a solid mix of modern features, smart home support, and extensive customization. While it has a couple of minor drawbacks and is better suited to ambient lighting than fully illuminating a room, it delivers where it matters and stands out as a flexible, visually appealing addition to a space.
