Microsoft Gaming CEO Teases Next-Gen Xbox Console Project Helix

Microsoft Gaming’s new Asha Sharma recently confirmed that the company is already working on its next-generation console, which is currently being called internally as ‘Project Helix’.  Yes, all the swirling rumors were true. The future of Xbox gaming is here, and slowly but steadily, it’s all beginning to take shape.

While the details of these updates actually remain hidden under wraps, the announcement undoubtedly hints at a new era of gaming hardware. According to reports by IGN, this seems to have been designed to push the gaming performance and experience further, allowing the updated Xbox console itself to play PC games.

Asha Sharma, who took over as the head of the Xbox business last week, took to X (formerly Twitter) and talked about this development. She posted, saying, “Great start to the morning with Team Xbox, where we talked about our commitment to the return of Xbox, including Project Helix, the code name for our next generation console.” 

She further added, “Project Helix will lead in performance and play your Xbox and PC games. Looking forward to chatting about this more with partners and studios at my first GDC next week!” It’s quite clear that the upcoming console will focus on innovation and delivering the next big leap for players across the Xbox ecosystem. This has proven that all the rumors regarding a gaming system upgrade are about to turn into reality.
