Rockstar Games Reveals When GTA 6 Pre-Orders Will Begin

Rockstar Games has announced the official start date for Grand Theft Auto (GTA) VI pre-orders. The announcement gives fans a clear timeline to mark on their calendars and puts an end to months of rumors. Locking in the pre-order date is a major step forward, as it lets players officially reserve their copies before launch day.

Rockstar Games announces GTA 6 pre-orders will start on June 25

The renowned video game publisher has officially confirmed that pre-orders for the much-awaited GTA installment will open on June 25, 2026, giving fans a firm date to circle as launch approaches.

With pre-orders opening June 25, fans will finally learn GTA VI’s price. Some analysts expect it could hit $100 due to the game’s massive development costs, though GTA 5 shows Rockstar’s other games keep generating revenue years after launch (via IGN).

However, Rockstar Games shared more than just dates. On June 18 morning, the company released a 30-second teaser that revealed GTA VI’s artwork for the first time. The cover art puts GTA 6’s dual leads, Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval, front and center.

One side shows a motorbike performing a trick next to a police car. Meanwhile, the other features a helicopter armed with a minigun. The teaser also features supporting characters like Boobie Ike and Raul Bautista.

At the IICON gaming executive conference in April, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said that the company would price GTA 6 carefully to make sure players felt it offered good value.

“Consumers pay for the value that you bring to them, and our job is to charge way way way less of the value delivery,” Zelnick stated. “How you feel about something you buy is the intersection of the thing itself and what you pay for. Consumers need to feel like the thing itself is amazing and the price they were charged was fair for what they got.”

“What we think about is making the most spectacular piece of entertainment on Earth, in history – and it’s a pretty daunting challenge. If we do that, and if we’re of service to our customers, then the upside will take care of itself,” Zelnick added.

Nevertheless, fans’ excitement around GTA VI continues to rise as the November 19, 2026, release date nears.
