The People Speak: Way Too Many AAA Game Releases

It was a busy week at GR with three major games reviewed: Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus, Super Mario Odyssey, and Assassin’s Creed: Origins. We sat down with Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata and got his thoughts on DLC, Final Fantasy, the Nintendo Switch, and more. The controversial The Last of Us Part 2 trailer at Paris Games Week made us take a look at why video game violence shouldn’t be associated with maturity.

As part of our ongoing coverage of loot boxes, and why they’re horrible, we took a look at some of the changes Star Wars Battlefront 2 received in the wake of criticism against its system. We also saw Super Mario Odyssey jump into the stratosphere as it became the fastest selling Mario games of all time, and one of the best-reviewed games ever. We also found out that Osama Bin Laden was a closet weeb who loved video games—we’re not sure if that’s surprising or whether it makes perfect sense.

Article: Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus Review – Blazkowicz Über Alles

Comment: Over the years, developers have created such interesting and varied types of enemies, yet there’s nothing quite as satisfying as Rambo-ing your way through a swarm of Nazis. Can’t wait to play this.

Article: Final Fantasy XV Director Talks DLC, Final Fantasy’s Future, the Nintendo Switch and More

Comment: Excellent read. Tabata is such a jolly and open fellow. He’s a rare kind of a developer, wish a lot of devs were like him. That Switch quip in the beginning caught me off guard though. LOL

4. Nanotroll 2

Article: Call of Duty WW2 Campaign Length Revealed

Comment: WW2 itself lasted less time than this ridiculous franchise

Article: Tell GR: How Are You Celebrating This Halloween?

Comment: All of my cop friends called me a nerd when they saw my “costume.” Khakis and a polo, with a clip board. It isn’t a costume! I’m in IT now! Sec+ and all! Jerks.

Oh, the clown.
