Rockstar To Break GTA 6 Secrecy Code for This Reason — Report

Rockstar Games may allow a terminally ill fan to play to GTA 6 before its official release. For those unversed, Grand Theft Auto VI is an upcoming action-adventure game developed and published by Rockstar Games. The company originally planned to release it in May 2026, but then postponed it to November. However, based on recent developments, it may not be released until 2027.

Rockstar Games might allow this one fan to play GTA 6 before release

Rockstar Games could break their GTA 6 secrecy code for a terminally ill fan. Anthony Armstrong is a UI integrator at Ubisoft Toronto. He penned a heartfelt post on LinkedIn in December 2025 with a flicker of hope that someone from Rockstar Games would read his post.

He wrote, “To any of my connections at Rockstar Games and Rockstar Toronto, or anyone else that may be able to help. A member of my family who has been battling cancer for years just recently got the worst possible news: he was given 6–12 months to live.”

Further, Armstrong shared that the terminally ill fan lived near Rockstar’s Oakville studio. He has been a fan of GTA for the longest time. He fears he might miss GTA 6, as it has already been delayed multiple times, and that he may not live long enough to witness the upcoming version.

Armstrong revealed he understands that there is a shroud of utmost secrecy surrounding GTA 6. He shared, “I absolutely understand the need for secrecy at this point of development, so at the very least an NDA is probably needed.”

Armstrong’s post went viral and reportedly reached the CEO of Take-Two (Rockstar Games’ parent company). In a now-deleted post, Armstrong confessed excitedly, “We spoke to them today and got great news. That’s all I can really say, but thank you all from the bottom of my heart.”

Soon after, Armstrong reportedly deleted his post, likely due to legal NDA pressures from Rockstar Games. However, quick-witted fans took screenshots and saved the receipts on the internet. As of writing, Rockstar Games hasn’t officially commented on the matter.
