How is CP in Friday the 13th: The Game Actually Gained?

Friday the 13th: The Game has one of the most entertaining progression systems of the year. Through leveling up and gaining experience, you get Customization Points (CP), and you can use that CP to roll for counselor Perks, which provide a variety of different bonuses, such as Stamina, car speed, etcetera.

But how is CP in Friday the 13th: The Game actually accrued? This is not explicitly explained in the game, and it seems to just show up in random amounts after each match.

CP in Friday the 13th: The Game, CP is gained at a rate of 10% of your experience. So, if you gain 1000 XP in one match, that will be 100 CP. Furthermore, you gain a chunk of CP upon leveling up, starting at 500 per level.
