Star Wars Battlefront 2 Beta Codes Aren’t Working For Players Who Pre-ordered From Retailers (Update)

Update: The issue has now been resolved, with the download button appearing on the PlayStation Store page for the Star Wars Battlefront 2 beta.

Original Story: Those eager to jump into the Star Wars Battlefront 2 beta are facing their first stumbling block, with players on PS4 finding that the codes they received from retailers aren’t allowing them to download the beta.

Currently, those who pre-ordered the game directly from the PlayStation Store appear to be experiencing no difficulties in downloading its closed beta and hopping into the game. However, those who received a beta code as a pre-order bonus from the likes of Amazon and GameStop are receiving no prompts to download it, with their PS4 redeeming the code before leaving no trace of the beta they’ve gained access to.

After entering the beta code, players can return to Star Wars Battlefront 2’s page on the PlayStation Store and attempt to access the beta there, only to be greeted by the following message: “You are not able to purchase this product for the following reason(s):  You do not own: Star Wars Battlefront 2“. Similarly, using the PlayStation Store’s search tool and searching for the beta also refuses to allow players to download it.

Unlike most betas, the Star Wars Battlefront 2 beta didn’t allow players to preload it, meaning that they weren’t able to download it prior to it going live earlier today (1 AM PT / 4 AM EDT). However, those who have preordered the game from the PlayStation Store have been able to jump straight in with their download today, with no update as to when those with codes can be expected to play. We have reached out to EA for comment.
