Fortnite 4.2 Delayed: Fortnite Downtime Rescheduled by Epic Games

The Fortnite 4.2 update has been delayed, with Epic Games pushing back the Fortnite downtime as a result of unforeseen issues with the planned patch. This Fortnite 4.2 delay means that the patch will no longer launch today, which had been Epic’s original plan.

The Fortnite 4.2 patch notes have yet to be released, as they will coincide with the launch of the v4.2 update. However, some early V4.2 patch notes were leaked yesterday and can be viewed right here. These include new guns, along with the removal of the Thanos Infinity Gauntlet weapon that has been keeping players occupied.

Fortnite 4.2 Delayed: When is the Fortnite Downtime?

fortnite 4.2 update delayed fortnite downtime

The Fortnite 4.2 update was originally scheduled to go live early this morning, though Epic pushed it back along with the planned Fortnite downtime. There hasn’t been an update on when this downtime will now take place, though Epic has stated that it will be informing players when the developer has a time nailed down.

“We’ve discovered an issue that’s going to delay the release of v4.2,” Epic tweeted. “Due to this delay some quests may not function until the build releases. We’ll update you once we have a more accurate time frame.”

While the 4.2 update doesn’t appear to contain anything too significant, the huge popularity of the game’s Fortnite Battle Royale mode means that any patch is greeted by an overwhelming amount of excitement. It’s not clear exactly why the Fortnite V4.2 update was pushed back, though it appears that the issue revolved around the game’s quests. Epic Games has yet to notify players of when the update will go live, though we’re sure the developer will release some more information sooner rather than later.
