Is the Fortnite Season 5 Battle Pass Worth It?

As we begin a brand new chapter, many players are no doubt wondering: “Is the Fortnite Season 5 Battle Pass worth it?” While this may be a no-brainer for many of you, who have perhaps been playing the game for a long time now, other gamers may be a little less eager to drop money into this free-to-play game, as popular as it might be. The Fortnite Season 5 Battle Pass doesn’t add anything to the gameplay experience, as all Battle Royale maps and modes are free regardless of whether or not you’ve paid. What the Season 5 Battle Pass does do, is give players various challenges to complete, in exchange for cool-looking rewards and boosts. It keeps the gameplay fresh, and allows those who have trouble getting “Victory Royale” wins to still have fun and feel as though they have achieved something.

Is the Fortnite Season 5 Battle Pass Worth It?

If you are planning to put a lot of time into Fortnite Battle Royale, and think that you’ll be able to routinely complete the weekly challenges, then buying the Fortnite Season 5 Battle Pass is probably worth it. That is, so long as you find value in the cosmetic unlocks and buffs. If you just want to play with friends and aim to be number one in as many matches as possible, there’s no real need to buy the Season 5 Battle Pass.

For many, the hype surrounding the Fortnite Season 5 Battle Pass is the new skins. Cosmetic unlocks allow players to personalize their character and show off their dedication to the game. To be fair, many of the Fortnite skins do look awesome. However, it’s worth noting that skins can also be unlocked through Amazon/Twitch Prime, as well as platform exclusives.

If you simply want some challenges to complete, fancy some new cosmetics at a relatively cheap price, and/or just like the feeling of leveling up a video game, then the Fortnite Season 5 Battle Pass is worth it. If you just want to play solo or with your friends, going for the win, then you don’t need to put any money into Battle Royale.
