Hints

Reach higher areas

If there is a high ledge that you could not normally reach, be it one that you need a Selkie for or one that is slightly too high for even a Selkie to reach, just drop Magicite from your pockets. Pick up each Magicite and pile it on top of one another. Be careful not to throw the Magicite or the one on the bottom of the stack will detonate. Three or four Magicite stacked on top of one another will allow a Clavat, Yuke, or Lility to reach a height a Selkie could make in its double jump. Using the Selkie's double jump on top of Magicite could result in even higher points being reached.

Lility: Attack faster

A Lility's major downfall is that it has a combo of one. Its slow attacks allow it to get pummeled easily by a gang of enemies. When you are a Lility (Meeth for single player but whatever you name it in Multiplay), hold the D-pad in the direction that you are attacking. For example, if an enemy is to the right of you, hold Right and keep pressing A. You will attack a lot faster than if you just stood still and took on the enemy.

Stat bonuses

Stat Bonuses from refined equipment are random. You can save the game before refining and reset the game until you get the desired bonuses.

Certain gems tend to give certain bonuses, depending on your equipment. For example, Onyx used to refine an Underworld Bow will most likely give you HP Absorb Attack/SP Absorb Attack. At the same time, certain equipment are preset to give specific bonuses when refined. For example, Dark Kitty Hood or Cloak will most likely give you Smart Riches when refined. Higher level equipment will give multiple stat bonuses.

In Multiplay mode, during most Boss battles if you are KO'ed you may find and pick up a Phoenix Down, which saves your partners from trying to revive you. Not all areas or Boss fights have them (for example, the first Crystal Temple boss fight against Chappy, the masked Lunite with the cloak).

Defeating the Valley Of Heroes Boss

The following is the fastest way to defeat the Valley Of Heroes Boss with a Selkie. Immediately after the intermission sequence ends for the Boss, keep a distance away from him. He will start charging for a laser beam attack. As soon as he starts to do so, approach him and hop onto his back, then double jump onto his tail. If timed correctly, you will be able to get in several hits on the crystal at the end of his tail. Repeat this until you defeat him. Attempting to do so while he is still mobile will be very difficult, as he will either try to slash at you with his claw (which will throw his tail to the side), or sting you (which will take a large chunk out of your HP or make the tail fall out underneath you even if you make it).

Defeating Al

The following is the fastest way to defeat the second Mount Vaal boss with a Selkie. When revisiting Mount Vaal in Story mode (the second boss battle of Mount Vaal), you will encounter Al instead of the giant bird. Using a Selkie, back up into the south corner as far as possible from Al, and turn around. From here, Al cannot attack you. You can repeatedly jump and shoot and take him out without getting hurt. If timed correctly, you can hit Al at the top of a single jump, which will be a lot faster than double jumping every shot.

Ride dragon during Kilanda Isle Boss battle

During the first phase of the fight, attack the man riding the dragon. He will fall off and become easy prey. At this point the saddle of the dragon begins to glow. You may jump on and take control of the dragon. The D-pad control his movement, and [Attack] sends out a fireball. However, the rider can kick you off the saddle and regain control.

Glitches

Multiple stat boosts

In Multiplay mode, when in Rebena Te Ra's Mog Shop there seems to be a glitch where when buying stats (most often with the Defense stat) you will get "3" points instead of the "2" points that are normally available for purchase. Try to buy everything out quickly, and repeatedly tap Up and [Buy]. This seems to only work with items of plural quantities (for example, HP Boost x1 will not get you HP Boost x2). It appears only to happen with stat boosts and not the Magacites or potions. Because the shop restocks after every dungeon or quest you complete, rush through the River Belle dungeon (the fastest dungeon) and go back to town repeatedly to continually buy out stat boosts.

Falling damage

At random times (occurs more often when using Selkies), the game will fail to detect a floor or a wall and your character may fall through the actual floor and "plunge down". You will emerge again damaged, as if you had just fallen into a pit fall (for example, water, lava, cliff, etc.).

There is a possibility that during the Abyssus Forest Boss battle if you are to encounter this glitch, you may become stuck, poisoned repeatedly, and killed.

If you are a Selkie, holding a charge attack/charge break while encountering this glitch, it does not interrupt your charge and you will avoid damage.

Carry items and attack

Whenever you pick up an item such as a key to a door, face the north wall. Throw the item at the wall and it will land on top of you, thus allowing you to attack and carry that item at the same time. If you wish to grab that item again, just press the Y. You will pick up the item that is on top of your character.
