The Overwatch Season 12 start date has been revealed recently with the end of Season 11 of the game’s competitive mode. This new season means more opportunities to earn Competitive Points, levels in the mode and the various rewards that come with it. So when is the Overwatch Seaon 12 start date? Let’s find out.
Overwatch Season 12 Start Date: When Is Overwatch Competitive Season 11 Ending?
The previous season of Overwatch‘s competitive mode will be ending Tuesday, August 28 at 20:00 ET. This means you will only have a short amount of time left to earn progress this season. With the end of the season, of course, means you will receive rewards. For completing your placement matches before the end of the season, you will receive a special player icon and spray.
If you have placed among the top 500 on your platform and your region, in addition to the previous rewards, you will receive an extra icon and an animated spray. These rewards will be automatically added to your account once the season ends. However, for the Top 500 rewards, players on PC must have Blizzard Protect, the company’s two-factor authentication system enabled.
You will of course also earn Competitive Points (CP) based on your Skill Rating. You can see the breakdown of SR to CP in the list below, courtesy of Blizzard:
- SR 1-1499 (Bronze): 65 CP
- SR 1500-1999 (Silver): 125 CP
- SR 2000-2499 (Gold): 250 CP
- SR 2500-2999 (Platinum): 500 CP
- SR 3000-3499 (Diamond): 750 CP
- SR 3500-3999 (Master): 1200 CP
- SR 4000-5000 (Grandmaster): 1750 CP
Overwatch Season 12 Start Date: When Is Overwatch Competitive Season 12 Starting?
The Overwatch Season 12 start date will be Friday, August 31 at 20:00 ET. This will give players a fresh start on their competitive Overwatch dreams. However, players will need to complete their 10 placement matches again to be seeded into the correct ranking. This new season, if it follows previous ones, should last around two months.
