It’s almost a given now in games, so when can we expect Assassin’s Creed Odyssey New Game Plus to drop into our laps? For the uninitiated, New Game Plus (NG+) allows players to start a new game once they’ve completed the main campaign, with the added bonus of keeping all of their weapons, armor, and other gear. The only catch is that enemies are considerably tougher. Unless we’re myth-taken, this sounds like something that would be perfect for the game, so when is the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey New Game Plus release date?
Is There Assassin’s Creed Odyssey New Game Plus?
Ubisoft has kept its cards very close to its chest when it comes to the idea of an Assassin’s Creed Odyssey New Game Plus. Right now, there is no option available in-game to start a NG+, yet that’s not to say nothing is in the works.
Speaking to Game Rant, creative director Jonathan Dumont revealed that we can actually expect it “a little bit after launch.”
That’s our first (and only) piece of official confirmation when it comes to New Game Plus. Outside of that, we’ve heard nothing in the way of specific details for the mode, including if you can select the other main playable character, nor whether you need to keep a manual save handy. Either way, it’ll be good to make one once you’ve finished the game just in case.
When is the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey New Game Plus Release Date?
“A little bit after launch” reduces the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey New Game Plus release date window a little, but many will still be climbing the walls for a second go-around with Alexios or Kassandra.
For context, Assassin’s Creed Origins received a New Game Plus update on February 22, 2018, a full three months after the game’s original release. Here’s hoping we don’t have to wait that long this time but, as Dumont’s hints, we almost certainly won’t have to wait past February 2019 to get our hands on NG+, Greek-style.
