Black Ops 4 Mouse and Keyboard on Console

Many of us are happy enough to play Call of Duty Black Ops 4 on a console using a traditional gaming controller, but is there a way for those who want to up their game with a Black Ops 4 mouse and keyboard console setup? We’ll take a look at how best to play Black Ops 4 with mouse and keyboard on a console and how it could help.

Black Ops 4 Mouse Keyboard Console Setup – What are the Benefits?

Despite every console coming with its own unique controller, many players prefer playing games using a mouse and keyboard combo. This is especially true of first-person-shooters. Many people feel that your aim is truer when pointing with a mouse than it ever can be when aiming with an analog stick. We here at GameRevolution believe that neither control method is more ideal than the other, however. While a mouse might offer a better aim than an analog stick, a mouse and keyboard setup does require a large surface area to be used. Overall it’s a more cumbersome control method thanks to the area needed to play – it’s not too comfortable placed on your lap.

Black Ops 4 Mouse Keyboard Console Setup – Can it be Done?

Surprisingly, there are ways to get your mouse and keyboard working on your PS4 or Xbox One. A simple way to go about it is to plug your wired keyboard and mouse into the console’s USB sockets. While a lot of brands will work on either the PS4 or Xbox One, some won’t, and there isn’t anything you can do about that, unfortunately.

If you want to play using a wireless mouse and keyboard via Bluetooth, head into your console’s settings and choose “Bluetooth Devices.” Connect the console and the keyboard/mouse and you should be good to go if you see them listed. If the console asks you for a code qne you don’t know it, simply enter “0000.”

Not all games work with mouse and keyboards, however. Black Ops 4 is one such game, as playing with a keyboard and mouse puts you at an advantage compared to your controller brethren. Despite this, there are workarounds if you’re really keen on playing Black Ops 4 with keyboard and mouse on consoles. Buying the IOGEAR Keymander or Xim4 lets you map controller inputs into a mouse and keyboard on consoles. Doing this might just end with you being banned for the game for cheating, however, so we wouldn’t recommend it.
