Pokemon Let's Go All Mega Evolutions

Pokemon Let’s Go All Mega Evolutions – Which Pokemon Mega Evolve?

Mega Evolutions are back in Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee. Thanks to a datamine, we’ve been able to look at the list of Pokemon Let’s Go all Mega Evolutions. Want to know exactly what Pokemon can Mega Evolve in Pokemon Let’s Go? Read on for that information and more.

What Are Mega Evolutions in Pokemon Let’s Go?

Mega Evolutions were originally introduced to the Pokemon series back in Pokemon X and Y. Essentially, Mega Evolutions offer certain Pokemon the ability to “evolve” mid-battle. This gives your Pokemon a significant stats boost, a change to their Ability,  and a nifty visual overhaul to boot. Bear in mind, however, that in order to Mega Evolve any Pokemon you’ll need to have them holding their exclusive Mega Stone. You’ll need to own the Key Stone, too.

How to Use All Mega Evolutions in Pokemon Let’s Go

Typically, Mega Evolution is something you can only use in battle. In certain situations, however, you can use Mega Evolution outside of battle, too. In Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, for example, you can make use of Mega Evolution during the Talent Round of Pokemon Contest Spectaculars. As for Pokemon Let’s Go, as far as we’re aware, you can only use Mega Evolution during battles.

To use Mega Evolution, you’ll first need to make sure you own the Key Stone item and have the Pokemon of choice holding its own unique Mega Stone. Once you have fulfilled both of these requirements, you can Mega Evolve. To Mega Evolve any eligible Pokemon, you simply need to choose Mega Evolve in the main menu of a fight. You can employ it at any time, but it will only last as long as your Pokemon does. Bear in mind, too, that you can only use Mega Evolution once during any battle; you can’t Mega Evolve your entire team at once.

Complete List of Pokemon That Can Mega Evolve in Pokemon Let’s Go

Pokemon Let's Go All Mega Evolutions

Thanks to Twitter user Kaphotics, we know the majority (we’ll update this list as soon as we know all of them) of Pokemon that can Mega Evolve in Pokemon Let’s Go ahead of its November 16, 2018 release date. As it stands now, there are a total of 16 Mega Evolutions we can make the most of in Pokemon Let’s Go. While this doesn’t sound like many, Nintendo and Game Freak could always add in more Mega Evolutions at a later date via the magic of post-release patches and updates. For now, at least, the full list of Pokemon Let’s Go Mega Evolutions is as follows (in numerical order):

  • Venusaur
  • Charizard (both X and Y variants)
  • Blastoise
  • Beedrill
  • Pidgeot
  • Alakazam
  • Golem
  • Slowbro
  • Gengar
  • Kangaskhan
  • Pinsir
  • Gyarados
  • Aerodactyl
  • Mewtwo (both X and Y variants)

Longtime fans of Pokemon will note that there are no brand-new Mega Evolutions in Pokemon Let’s Go. Indeed, a few have been added since its introduction in X and Y back in 2013. There are plenty more Mega Evolutions than the 16 listed, however.

As Pokemon Let’s Go is a remake of Red and Blue, it only contains Pokemon from the series’ original generation (aside from Meltan and its evolved form Melmetal). Despite this, it is still a little disappointing to see that Nintendo hasn’t added any more Mega Evolutions to the game. There is a lot of scope. Where’s my Mega Arbok, Golduck, Rapidash, Kingler, and Tauros? Hopefully Nintendo plans to add a few more in later.

Where to Find Mega Stones in Pokemon Let’s Go

Pokemon Let's Go All Mega Evolutions

As we’ve mentioned above, to Mega Evolve any and all Pokemon that are able, you’ll need to find their unique Mega Stones. Unfortunately, this isn’t an easy task. In previous games you would find them after beating certain battles, as shining objects scattered throughout the map, or you would collect them via special item and Pokemon distributions. We’d like to say that you can find them all in the same ways in Pokemon Let’s Go, but we simply don’t know if that’s the case.

Of course, we’ll update this post as soon as we know the exact locations for each Mega Stones in Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee. In the meantime, we’d like to think that you’ll be able to find them in the ways listed above.

For everything Pokemon Let’s Go, keep your eyes peeled to GameRevolution.
