Fallout 76 Login Failed Fix – This Account Is Not Authorized

Fallout 76 login failed error is popping up for some PC players, with selective server errors causing certain explorers to be hit with a message informing them: “This account is not authorized.” But what does it mean, and how do you fix this Fallout 76 login error? Let’s take a look at the problem and the reported solution.

Fallout 76 Login Failed: This Account is Not Authorized Error

Weirdly, the Fallout 76 login failed error is only popping up for certain players. While many are able to happily hop in and enjoy the game, others are finding themselves facing the following error message: “Login failed. This account is not authorized.”

So what gives? Why are many able to access the Fallout 76 servers, but others are not? Well, it seems that some of those who jumped into the beta are being directed to the wrong servers, all thanks to a sneaky piece of code being left in their game files.

How to Fix Fallout 76 Login Failed Error

In order to solve this problem, Fallout 76 players will need to dive into the game’s files.

Follow the below steps to fix the problem:

  • Go to My Documents.
  • Go to the location of your Fallout 76 files.
  • Select the file Fallout76.ini.
  • Delete the following lines of text:
    • [Bethesda.net]
    • sTitleType = beta
  • Save the updated file.

After you have deleted these two lines of text, you should be able to access the Fallout 76 servers and begin your journey with the online multiplayer RPG. While Bethesda games are typically buggy at launch, this particular issue has a simple resolution, so you needn’t worry about being locked out of the game for a lengthy period of time.

If the issue still persists, ensure that you have deleted both Bethesda’s Supportlines of code from the Fallout76.ini file. If you continue to have issues, you can navigate over to page and further investigate the problem.
