Fortnite 7.10 Content Update 3

Fortnite 7.10 Content Update 3 patch notes – Suppressed Sniper Rifle, balance changes, and more

Epic Games has detailed the Fortnite 7.10 Content Update 3 patch notes. These feature the final changes coming to the game within the 7.10 update period. It’s been unusual to see so many Content Updates hitting the game without any patches to download and install on the client side. Any future changes should be featured under a new number, which is expected to drop next week.

The Fortnite 7.10 Content Update 3 patch notes include details of the new Suppressed Sniper Rifle, changes to the Boom Box and other equipment, and more. Read on for the patch notes highlights.

Fortnite 7.10 Content Update 3 patch notes – 14 Days of Fortnite is back

Fortnite 7.10 Content Update 3

In an attempt to make up for the original “14 Days of Fortnite,” Epic Games is reintroducing the Limited Time Modes. This will last for the next week.

Players are encouraged to log into the game each day to see what is featured. This allows more opportunities for the event challenges to be completed.

Fortnite 7.10 Content Update 3 patch notes – Suppressed Sniper Rifle added

Fortnite 7.10 Content Update 3

Through the “Coming Soon” teaser, we already knew some information about the Suppressed Sniper Rifle. The description read: “Strike at your opponents quietly with this suppressed bolt-action Sniper.” The Fortnite 7.10 Content Update 3 patch notes expand on the weapon’s capabilities, detailing specs and where to find it.

The Suppressed Sniper Rifle is available in Epic and Legendary variants. It’s a single shot, bolt-action rifle. The suppressor means shots will be quieter, but will be less damaging. The weapon deals 100/105 base damage.

If you’re trying to hunt down the Suppressed Sniper Rifle in-game, you’ll need to look in chests, floor loot, Vending Machines, and Supply Drops.

Fortnite 7.10 Content Update 3 patch notes – Boom Box, X-4 Stormwing, and Dynamite balance changes

Fortnite 7.10 Content Update 3

Big changes to the Boom Box, X-4 Stormwing, and Dynamite have been made with Fortnite 7.10 Content Update 3.

The Boom Box nerf hits pretty hard, with the drop rate being reduced by 33 percent, health dropping from 600 to 400, and duration reduced from 25 seconds to 18 seconds.

The X-4 Stormwing now causes less knockback to players (70 percent reduction), and damage done to the Stormwing when colliding with a structure has been increased by 50 percent. Though, impact damage reduction while boosting through structures has been reduced from 50 percent to 25 percent. The Stormwing spawn rate has also dropped from 100 percent to 80 percent, meaning you are always guaranteed to find a plane in the same place for each round. The X-4 will no longer be able to fly above the maximum building height.

Dynamite is now rarer, with its drop rate being reduced by 40 percent.

Fortnite 7.10 Content Update 3 patch notes – Dual Pistols added, Six Shooter removed

Fortnite 7.10 Content Update 3

Unfortunately for Six Shooter fans, Fortnite 7.10 Content Update 3 has removed the weapon from the game. It has been added to the Vault, where Epic Games will potentially make balance tweaks before possibly returning it to the game in a later update.

Dual Pistols replace the Six Shooter, returning to the game after serving their own sentence in the Vault. They don’t appear to have undergone any balance changes.

The Burst Assault Rifle has also been hit by the wrath of the Vault, with the Uncommon, Common, and Rare variants all being removed. Bear this in mind when hunting for a starting weapon.

Fortnite 7.10 Content Update 3 patch notes – Save the World Changes

Fortnite 7.10 Content Update 3

The Fortnite 7.10 Content Update 3 also makes changes to Save the World. If you’re still feeling Christmassy, the Santa’s Little Helper weapon will be available in the weekly store from January 9 at 7 PM ET until January 16 at 7 PM ET. It launches “explosive presents that damage and knockback groups of enemies.” This weapon doesn’t actually consume ammo, but it isn’t very durable.

Save the World players will also be able to earn the Popshot Shotgun. This will be unlockable through the Frostnite Weekly Challenges. It’s a rapid firing low capacity semi-auto shotgun.

Speaking of the Frostnite Weekly Challenge, players will now be able to access Challenge 2: Burn Bright. Those taking part will want to watch the clock, as the time between waves is drastically reduced. Rewards include the aforementioned Popshot Shotgun, Challenge Banner 2, and Snowflake Tickets.
