turn off level scaling in Assassin's Creed Odyssey

How to change and turn off level scaling in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Level scaling in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is the next big thing. You can now make enemies scale to be slightly less strong than they were before, as well as leveling the playing field and having every person you face be the exact same level as you. But is there a way to turn off level scaling in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and act like you belong in Mount Olympus with your OP talents? It’s not looking likely, I’m afraid…

How to change level scaling in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

To actual tinker with level scaling in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey you’re going to need to pause the game and head to the “Gameplay” tab, which is the third option along.

Once you’re there, scroll down to the third of seven tiles, known as “Level Scaling.”

Here you’re given the option to move between the “Default” level settings for the game, “Heavy” (which means everything scales with you no matter what level you are and where you are), “Medium” (everything can scale to a minimum of two levels below your current level), and “Light” (everything can scale to four level below you).

You can adjust these on the fly at any time, though not during battles. You can’t play god quite that easily.

How to turn off level scaling in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

A common complaints for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is that you never truly feel overpowered until well into the endgame. So, with the new update, is there an option to turn off level scaling?

You can technically turn off level scaling and have it return to the tried-and-tested formula of level gates and harder enemies being present only in certain regions by selecting “Default” in the level scaling menu, but you can’t turn off level gates or level scaling completely. You’ll still get some badass mercs and the like roaming around Ancient Greece around your level after your blood. Still, turning things on “Light” will let you feel more powerful than ever before.
