You want every Keyblade in Kingdom Hearts 3. I know, I know. It can be tough starting the game with the Kingdom Key and being desperate to get your hands on some of the best Keyblades in KH 3 early on. But that’s now how it works. Here’s when you’ll be able to unlock all Kingdom Hearts 3 Keyblades and what they’re best used for.
Kingdom Hearts 3 All Keyblades | Kingdom Key
Your starting Keyblade and, if we’re being honest, not much to write home about. With a base stat of 4 Strength and 3 Magic, it’ll carry you through the Olympus Coliseum and not much else. Look to move on ASAP.
Kingdom Hearts 3 All Keyblades | Hero’s Origin
With a real emphasis on Strength, Hero’s Origin may be a Keyblade that sticks around in your arsenal for some time. Unlock it after beating the Olympus world.
Kingdom Hearts 3 All Keyblades | Shooting Star
The first real Magic-intensive Keyblade, the Shooting Star unlocks after you complete Twilight Town on your first visit there in during the story.
Kingdom Hearts 3 All Keyblades | Favorite Deputy
You’re probably beginning to sense a theme here. Favorite Deputy is given to you after you have finished the Toy Story Toy Box world. It’s one of the best weapons to use mid-game thanks to its power.
Kingdom Hearts 3 All Keyblades | Ever After
Defeat Mother Gothel’s Heartless in the Tangled Kingdom of Corona world and you’ll have this powerful magic Keyblade ready and waiting to cut through hordes of Heartless.
Kingdom Hearts 3 All Keyblades | Happy Gear
Probably the coolest design in the game—and a Keyblade that I personally used right up until the very end of Kingdom Hearts 3—you have to beat the Giant Heartless in Monstropolis and, thus, complete the world to get the Monsters. Inc Keyblade.
Kingdom Hearts 3 All Keyblades | Hunny Spout
One of the few optional Keyblades, Hunny Spout can be unlocked by going to the 100 Acre Wood (talk to Merlin at Le Grande Bistrot if you’re having trouble finding it) and beating all three Rabbit minigames. It’s the best Keyblade in the game. Don’t @ me.
Kingdom Hearts 3 All Keyblades | Crystal Snow
Who wants to build a Keyblade? No, me neither. Luckily, you’ll be given this one gratis once you finish the Frozen world of Arendelle during Kingdom Hearts 3.
Kingdom Hearts 3 All Keyblades | Wheel of Fate
Beat Davy Jones and send him down to the very depths of the sea in The Caribbean and the well-balanced Wheel of Fate is yours, me matey.
Kingdom Hearts 3 All Keyblades | Nano Gear
You will have probably grown too attached to other Keyblades at this stage of the game but the Nano Gear is still worth a look. Defeat Dark Baymax during the world’s story to unlock it.
Kingdom Hearts 3 All Keyblades | Starlight
The last of the story-based Keyblades, you can either unlock Starlight by beating the Demon Tower at Keyblade Graveyard or, weirdly, by beating all five minigame high scores on the Kingdom Hearts Union X mobile title.
Kingdom Hearts 3 All Keyblades | Ultima Weapon
The best Keyblade in the game, natch, with a base Strength and Magic total of 13. It’s not easy to unlock. You have to collect 58 Synthesis Materials via defeat enemies as well as finding them in chests. You’ll then have to craft it with seven Orichalcum+, and a pair each of Wellspring Crystals, Lucid Crystals, and Pulsing Crystals.
