Pokemon Go Battle Showdown Event | What’s new?
Announced by Niantic and patched in on Tuesday, March 5, the Pokemon Go Battle Showdown event is designed to instigate battles between yourself, team leaders, and other players.
Fighting-type Pokemon are also expected to spawn more frequently, with the likes of Mankey, Machop, and Meditite all turning up in greater numbers. Players will even have the chance to catch shiny versions of Mankey and Machop too, so keep your eyes peeled.
A new fighting-type move, Power-Up Punch, makes its debut in the game too. Pokemon such as Poliwrath, Lucario, and Kangaskhan can come with it, so you may want to catch a few if you want this new move.
Pokemon Go Battle Showdown event | Bonuses
To help you get involved in this event, Niantic have brought out a few bonuses that you’ll want to take advantage of. You can earn up to five rewards per day from Trainer Battles, including the chance to earn rare candy to level up your Pokemon.
You can get up to three rewards per day from challenging team leaders too, with rare candy a possible reward for completing these tasks. Trainers can get double XP for picking up Gym Badges on their travels as well.
Finally, you can earn double the amount of Stardust for catching, battling, and raiding during the Pokemon Go Battle Showdown event. No matter what you get up to, you’ll be rewarded, so get to it, trainers.
Pokemon Go Battle Showdown event | End date
The Pokemon Go Battle Showdown event is a week-long timed event, and will finish on Tuesday, March 12. It will be brought to an end at 1 PM Pacific (4 PM Eastern and 9 PM GMT) so make sure you’ve done all you want before it ends.
