The Division 2 Side Mission Matchmaking

The Division 2 Side Mission Matchmaking | Can you matchmake?

The Division 2 side mission matchmaking would be the perfect solution for players who are struggling to complete side missions on their own, or who are failing to receive any aid when calling for backup. While the game’s main missions offer matchmaking, ensuring you’re always playing with a group of four, which is where the game shine’s brightest, the side missions do not appear to have gotten the same treatment. Here’s what you need to know about The Division 2 side mission matchmaking.

Is The Division 2 side mission matchmaking possible?

Unfortunately, at least the time of writing, The Division 2 side mission matchmaking is not possible. There is simply no option on the map for players to being to request matchmaking, meaning side missions must be tackled alone, with a pre-assembled group, or by using the “Call for Backup” function.

While it’s not the end of the world that matchmaking isn’t available with side missions, it does make it more difficult to find like-minded strangers who want to tackle that specific objective.

Will The Division 2 side mission matchmaking be added to the game?

Perhaps it’s the mission length that kept Massive Entertainment from adding The Division 2 side mission matchmaking to the game. I suppose matchmaking into a mission that takes 5-10 minutes to complete could be seen as being a little extreme. However, with side missions often proving to be quite tricky, especially as they scale to the player level, I’m sure some players would have appreciated matchmaking functionality.

Of course, it’s possible that the developers will add matchmaking to side missions in a future update, should the community be vocal enough about it. For now, though, you will have to stick to requesting for backup, finding players by other means (the clan system is good!), or by gritting your teeth and playing solo.
