The Division 2 is Ubisoft’s follow-up to Tom Clancy’s The Division, the publisher’s series of loot shooters, and it’s out to play right now. It seems to be a lot of fun, from what we’ve played, but we can understand if gamers are hesitant in splashing out for the game. There’s a lot of great games out right now, including other loot shooters, such as BioWare’s Anthem. Is there a way to try The Division 2 before you buy it, so players know if it’s the right game for them? Is there a The Division 2 demo? Let’s have a look.
Is there a The Division 2 demo?
With so many games out there right now, including other loot shooters such as Destiny 2 or the recently-released Anthem, it’s understandable that some players would like to try out The Division 2 before they buy it, such as with a demo. The standard edition of The Division 2 is $59.99/£49.99, and that’s just the base version, so a demo would make a lot of sense. Unfortunately, as of right now, there is no demo for The Division 2 available, not for PC, Xbox One, or PS4. There are also no betas, free trials, or other offers currently running in place of a demo, which is a shame.
What can I do if I want to try The Division 2 before I buy?
As mentioned, there is currently no demo or free trial available for The Division 2. While it was previously possible to try the game through the free open beta weekends, if you missed those you’re straight out of luck, since betas don’t get repeated once the game is made available. It’s also not currently available as part of the Xbox Game Pass, although the first Division is, so the new game may come to the Pass in the future. The Division also had a free trial for new players to try up to level 8, so it’s entirely possible that may happen for The Division 2 in the near term. For now though, if you want to play it, you’ll have to pay.
