What is a Lump of Grave Wax?

You will want to get your hands on as many pieces of Lump of Grave Wax as you can. It’s a special Upgrade Material. You will want as many of this item as you can so you can upgrade your Divine Abduction and Mist Raven Prosthetic Tools. The Lump of Grave Wax items are also used to apply the final upgrades to the Axe, Sacred Flame, and Shuriken Prosthetic Tools. Simply put, it’s an important item to find.

Unfortunately, only specific enemies will drop the much-needed item. Thankfully, that’s where we come in. Read on to learn where you can find them and the best Sekiro Lump of Grave Wax farming location.

The area you’ll want to head to in order to pick up pieces of Lump of Grave Wax is the Fountainhead Palace. In most of the Idol areas here, you will find enemies that drop the item. You should also find one in the Sunken Valley Under-Shrine Valley and Ashina Outskirts Flames of Hatred.

The best farming location, however, should be the Fountainhead Palace Flower Viewing Stage Idol (unfortunately, this is at the end of the game). Once you have unlocked this Idol, you should find plenty of Lump of Grave Wax items if you follow these steps:

  • Head to the Fountainhead Palace Flower Viewing Stage Idol
  • Use a Mibu Balloon of Soul and Demon Bell if you wish (they should increase item drops)
  • Enter the building behind the Idol
  • Sneak up to and kill the flute playing squid-like enemy (there’s a second you can insta-kill a little further into the building)
  • Run back to the Idol and rest
  • Rinse and repeat

The flute playing squid-like enemies should drop a Lump of Grave Wax every now and then. Simply keep killing the same one or two and resting so they respawn until you pick up enough Lump of Grave Wax items. Easy.
