Can you dive underwater in Sekiro?

Sure, you can swim, but can you dive underwater in Sekiro? The One-Armed Wolf may not have had swimming lessons as part of his Shinobi training, but there actually is a way to go underwater and start fishing about for loot and other items. Below, we’ll show you exactly how to dive in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, as well as where to find the Mibu Breathing Technique, which is required for you to head under the sea.

Can you dive underwater in Sekiro?

You can, but you sure as heck won’t find out how until well into Sekiro’s runtime. That’s because you need the Mibu Breathing Technique, a Latent Skill that allows Wolf to go underwater in a handful of locations across the game world.

As you’ll find out, though, learning how to dive underwater in Sekiro is easier said than done.

Where to find the Mibu Breathing Technique

You’re not allowed to dive underwater in Sekiro (for whatever reason) until at least 30-35 hours into the game, and that’s if you’re quick.

That’s because the ability to submerge yourself in the watery depths of Feudal Japan is tied to obtaining the Mibu Breathing Technique, which is tucked away in the Ashina Depths area of the map.

Once you’ve eventually made it there, you’ll need to face-off against the Corrupted Monk. With the boss being a mandatory section required to beat the game, you can’t miss the ability to dive underwater. It’s still an extremely tough fight, though, so come prepared.

If you beat her, you’ll be rewarded with the Mibu Breathing Technique, and a Memory. The former of which allows you to dive underwater.
