Battlefield Firestorm Radar Bug

As we mentioned, the Battlefield Firestorm radar bug is enabling people to see enemy players on the map. It’s causing people to be frustrated, as you’re not supposed to be able to see opponents on the radar. Being able to see them gives their positions away, meaning that you can sneak up on them easily and try to take them out. It’s very much a form of cheating, but players cannot work out how they are able to see others who aren’t on their team.

A thread posted on the game’s Reddit page showed how this was becoming an increasing problem, something EA DICE will have to deal with quickly. Started by user vagsmasher, the post includes an image showing how they are able to see their enemies on the radar HUD. The bug has the potential to take all the enjoyment out of people’s games, removing any element of surprise or tension from the game’s firefights.

Battlefield Firestorm Radar Bug | Is there a fix?

Battlefield Firestorm Radar Bug

Yep, there is a Battlefield Firestorm radar bug fix. EA DICE, replying in the above thread, has revealed that the team is aware of the issu, and know what its cause is. Basically, it’s the result of a cheater in the game using what is known as a spotting hack. This is usually prevented from occurring on the server side but, occasionally, servers aren’t protected properly.

This lack of proper protection allows some hackers to exploit a gap in the server’s defense, giving them the opportunity to implement cheating mechanisms like the spotting hack. EA DICE has brought a patch in that should close any loopholes in their servers, and prevent the radar HUD bug from occurring.
